Welcome to URA Girls Lacrosse

URA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization.  Since our inception the mission of the URA Girls Lacrosse Program has been to introduce and teach the game of women's lacrosse in a safe and fun environment.  We offer our program to young girls in the Unionville-ChaddsFord School District area from grades one through eight.  We hope that our program will create an excitement and love for lacrosse.

Our recreation program gives everyone the opportunity to play; however, participants in our program do need to attend practices to learn proper skills of the game to ensure they do not hurt themselves or someone else during game play.  We take safety seriously.  If your child is unable to make several practices especially at the beginning of the season, regardless of experience, her game time participation may be cut back significantly or she may not get any game time at all.  If this is an issue, your coach will discuss this with you.

Our program is run completely by volunteer parents.  Every year we look for new volunteers to keep the program strong.  No lacrosse experience is needed because returners are ready to guide and train you as you learn this fun sport.  We do have resources available that can be given out on loan especially if you are interested in being an assistant coach.  A great book of reference can be found at Amazon called "Coaching Girls' Lacrosse: A Baffled Parent's Guide" by Janine Tucker and Maryalice Yakutchik.
